Set in the majestic Austrian Alps, St Anton is a breath-taking destination offering the perfect backdrop for a yoga retreat. Filled with fun, adventure, food, and most importantly yoga, this retreat is designed to create strength from the inside out.
The yoga and focus of the retreat itself is to connect with your inner free spirit, centred around 3 core values; mindfulness, energy awareness and nature.
The retreat is private and intimate, with a maximum capacity of 9 guests, allowing each member to truly contribute their free spirits to the experience and to one another.
The retreat is the brain (and heart!) child of self-proclaimed free spirits, Samara (your yoga instructor), and Carly (your host), who have lived in St Anton for a combined 18 years. They love this beautiful village, the outdoors, and truly believe that mountains are medicine for the body, mind and soul.
Do we take mindfulness, energy awareness and nature seriously? Yes, absolutely!
Do we take ourselves seriously? Most certainly not!
So you can expect smiles, giggles, bad jokes and the sharing of good vibes.
We believe in balance in life and enjoying ourselves and pleasures, so on this retreat your free spirit is able to choose what your body needs. Over your 3 night stay, there will be a yoga and mindfulness program, which will truly encapsulate the beauty of the nature you are surrounded by, as well as periods of free time and moments of indulgence.
The retreat has mindfulness and a connection with nature at it’s core, however it is not rigid and serious, and certainly doesn’t forego the importance of laughter and social connections.
Retreat dates:
Wednesday 23rd – Saturday 26th August
The people you meet on a retreat are often what makes it such a special experience, which is why we named ours “Free Spirit Mountain Retreats”. We want to attract like-minded outdoor lovers, to combine our energy and enthusiasm, to share our love of nature, to help fulfil and expand each other’s free and wild spirits, all while nurturing our inner and outer strength.
So if you often find retreats too regimented, if you believe in balance and allow yourself to enjoy life’s pleasures, and if you follow a fluid lifestyle, preferring not to conform to rigid structures, then this retreat is for you.
St Anton is a stunningly picturesque Alpine town, and Wunderbar Lodge where you will be staying, is perfectly located in the very centre. This quaint and cosy chalet will become a home away from home whilst in the mountains, allowing you to relax, take in the breath-taking scenery, connect with the local environment and your new friends.
The Chalet is an intimate space sleeping 9 guests in 5 bedrooms. The sunny private garden overlooked by the glorious Rendl mountain range is available for your own practise whilst the communal living and dining areas are perfect for connecting with your fellow housemates.
Yoga was part of Samara’s life for over 15 years before qualifying as a teacher in 2019. Her Vinyassa classes have been popular in St Anton since then, in which she focusses on strength, breath and connecting the bodies motion to mindful intention.
Samara embodies everything it is to be a free spirit; she naturally follows her passions and her gut impulses, feels a strong connection to nature, and believes in enjoying herself and whatever pleasures she desires.
Her wild spirit has organically lead her life to where it is today; she left behind a successful career in the London fashion industry, to travel the world before she made her dream move to the mountains, qualifying as a massage therapist, completing her yoga training, and starting her beautiful family. With her zest for life, her ability to connect deeply with others and her passion for the outdoors, she is the embodiment of the free spirit. She looks forward to guiding you and helping you unleash your free spirit, here in St Anton.

Food and nourishment is a vital component of the Free Spirit Mountain Yoga retreat. Food sustains and heals the body, which is essential to your overall transformative experience, complimenting the retreats aim to create strength from the inside out. But more than that, food provides a platform and a space to connect with other individuals; it encourages social interactions, cultural explorations and deep conversations, all qualities that enrich us as human beings.
Our ethos is strongly routed in balance; enjoying a balanced life allows us to enjoy ourselves and our pleasures. Therefore we do not impose any dietary rules; a preference sheet is provided upon booking and you are free to enjoy what your body desires.
Every morning you will be provided with an extensive, nourishing breakfast, to set you up for your day of activities.
Each evening our dinner experience is different.
– Day 1: An al fresco dining experience; combined with the opening ceremony (should mother nature allow) we will be cooking over fire whilst gazing at the stars.
– Day 2: We have the pleasure of welcoming a guest chef; Phillippa Fern Kenyon Shutes, who will be cooking up a vegan / vegetarian delight in the comfort of the chalet’s cosy dining room.
– Day 3: On your final evening, we will eat in a local restaurant, with not only the best food, but the most vibes in town, giving us a chance to let our hair down.
